Wild Turkey Unveils Master’s Keep Beacon, Honoring Legacy with Final Release

Wild Turkey Distilling Company has announced the release of Master’s Keep Beacon, the final installment in its acclaimed Master’s Keep series. This limited-edition bourbon, crafted by the father-son duo of Eddie Russell and Bruce Russell, celebrates the distillery’s rich history while paving the way for its future. The release will be available at select retailers globally starting this September.

Master’s Keep Beacon is a unique blend of two carefully selected bourbons: a 16-year-old bourbon distilled between 2007 and 2008 and a 10-year-old bourbon from 2015. The older bourbon is drawn from some of the last remaining barrels from the original Wild Turkey distillery, where Eddie Russell began his career. The younger bourbon represents Bruce Russell’s early contributions to the family business, crafted alongside his father and grandfather, Hall of Fame Master Distiller Jimmy Russell.

A Decade of Distilling Excellence

The Master’s Keep series, initiated in 2015, was designed to explore innovative expressions beyond Wild Turkey’s traditional offerings. Over the past decade, the series has garnered significant acclaim, with each release celebrated for its exceptional quality. The final release, Master’s Keep Beacon, embodies the pinnacle of this journey, showcasing the expertise accumulated by the Russell family.

Eddie Russell reflected on the series, stating, “When we set out ten years ago to launch the Master’s Keep series, we knew we had something special but I never imagined the journey it would take us on.” He emphasized the importance of sharing rare whiskies while remaining true to the essence of Wild Turkey. Bruce Russell echoed this sentiment, noting that this release holds particular significance as it marks his first Master’s Keep with his signature on the bottle.

The series has produced ten remarkable releases, including titles such as 17 Year (2015), Decades (2016), and Triumph (2024). Each expression has received high praise from spirits publications and connoisseurs alike, earning spots on numerous “best whiskies of the year” lists.

Tasting Notes and Availability

Master’s Keep Beacon features an intriguing aroma with notes of dark fruit and cherry, complemented by honey, vanilla, and cola. The palate reveals sweet flavors of caramelized sugar, toffee, and warm baking spices, concluding with a long finish enriched by mature oak and leather.

This highly anticipated bourbon will retail at a suggested price of $300 and will be available in limited quantities worldwide. As a fitting conclusion to the Master’s Keep narrative, Beacon not only honors the past but also signals the ongoing journey of innovation and tradition that defines Wild Turkey.

Located in Kentucky, Wild Turkey distilling benefits from a unique limestone shelf that provides crystal-clear water essential for high-quality bourbon production. The distillery has become synonymous with bold flavors and craftsmanship, thanks to the combined expertise of the Russell family, who collectively bring over 100 years of experience.

As Wild Turkey continues to thrive in the competitive spirits market, the Master’s Keep collection has played a crucial role in its evolution, allowing the distillery to explore creative avenues while respecting its roots. With the release of Master’s Keep Beacon, the legacy of Wild Turkey’s craftsmanship is celebrated, ensuring its place in the hearts of whiskey enthusiasts around the globe.
