The three-level home, crafted by Giorgi, showcases remarkable craftsmanship, with judges noting its “flawless result” achieved through meticulous detailing and understated styling. “This project demonstrates how thoughtful design, skilled trades, and disciplined construction can come together to create a home of enduring quality,” said Michael McGowan, executive director of the Housing Industry Association WA.
In addition to the winning villa, the awards highlighted an “architecturally daring home” in Coolbinia, designed by Weststyle. This innovative property won the Innovation in Housing award for its striking curved walls made from seven types of custom-mapped bricks. The fully electric, solar-powered home also boasts curved steel glazing and integrated smart systems, showcasing a perfect blend of artistry and technology.
Notably, the Renovation and Addition Project of the Year was awarded to a 1915 heritage-listed bungalow in Peppermint Grove, renovated by Humphrey Homes. Judges praised the redesign for preserving classic elements like timber bay windows and pressed tin ceilings while introducing a dramatic W-shaped extension that floods the space with natural light.
