The Wattle Range Council, in collaboration with local businesses and service providers, is set to host the 2025 Ageing Well Expo on November 12, 2025, at the Millicent Civic and Arts Centre. This event aims to empower older adults by providing resources to help them lead healthier, more active, and fulfilling lives.
The expo will showcase over 20 stallholders, each offering a variety of information, services, and products to support healthy ageing. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with these vendors and explore practical ways to maintain health, independence, and social connections as they age. According to Emma Clay, Development Services director of the Wattle Range Council, “Whether you’re attending for yourself, a friend, or a family member, the expo is a great opportunity to chat with stallholders.”
Engaging Activities and Expert Insights
The event promises to be a hub of knowledge and interaction, featuring keynote speakers from organizations such as Dementia SA, Community Transport SA, and the Aged Rights Advocacy Service. These speakers will provide expert insights and practical tips aimed at enhancing quality of life for seniors.
In addition to informative sessions, the expo will include interactive activities designed to foster fun and community spirit among participants. The presence of the Lifeline Connect Van will offer attendees access to mental health support, ensuring that emotional well-being is also a focus of the event. Clay emphasized the importance of the expo, stating, “Whether you’re planning for the future or looking to enhance your current lifestyle, the 2025 Ageing Well Expo is your opportunity to connect, learn, and be inspired.”
A Year-Round Initiative for Seniors
The Ageing Well Expo is part of the council’s broader Celebrate Seniors Program, which runs throughout the year. This initiative not only promotes healthy ageing but also encourages community engagement. Additionally, attendees will have the chance to review and provide feedback on the draft Wattle Range Disability Access Inclusion Plan, which is currently open for community consultation.
Details regarding the full program, including specific times and additional activities, can be found on the Wattle Range Council website. The expo represents a significant effort to create a safe and inclusive space for older adults, allowing them to explore various avenues for improving their quality of life while connecting with others in their community.
