Station Casinos has announced a significant expansion plan for the Durango Casino & Resort, located in southwest Las Vegas. The project, which is part of the resort’s master plan, involves a major 275,000 square foot podium expansion on the north end of the property. This development aims to enhance the guest experience by introducing a vibrant array of new gaming, dining, and recreational amenities.
Details of the expansion were disclosed during the company’s third-quarter earnings call. Key features of the new development include an expanded casino floor with 400 additional slot machines, a 36-lane state-of-the-art bowling facility, luxury movie theaters, and several new restaurant concepts along with food hall outlets. Multiple entertainment venues are also set to be part of the upgrade, making the resort an even more attractive destination for visitors.
Construction on this ambitious $385 million project is expected to commence in January 2026, with a timeline of approximately 18 months for completion. As plans progress, more information regarding expansion partners and additional amenities will be released in the coming months.
In addition to this latest phase, the Durango Casino & Resort had previously announced a Phase II expansion. This will include a new covered parking structure with nearly 2,000 parking spaces and over 25,000 square feet of new casino space. Among these additions will be a high-limit slot area, which will feature 230 new slot machines, with 120 machines dedicated to the high-limit room. This expansion is scheduled to open in late December 2025.
Station Casinos aims to create a comprehensive entertainment experience that caters to a diverse range of guests. With this expansion, the Durango Casino & Resort is positioning itself as a leader in the Las Vegas market, focusing on both luxury and entertainment to attract visitors from near and far.
