Perenn Grocery, an innovative new concept from the team behind Perenn Bakery, is slated to open in Wedgewood-Houston, Nashville, in the summer of 2026. The announcement, made via Instagram, reveals that the grocery store will be located along Martin Street within the mixed-use development known as Wedgewood Village.
Aubrey and Tyler O’Laskey, the founders of Perenn Bakery, which currently operates in Franklin and Berry Hill, expressed excitement about this new venture. They initially launched their bakery brand in 2018 in Reno, Nevada, where they continue to operate three bakery locations alongside an existing Perenn Grocery.
In their announcement, the O’Laskeys reflected on their journey: “From cooking out of the back of our Subaru in Lake Tahoe as private chefs to building bakeries, cafes, and Perenn Grocery in Nevada, every chapter has taught us something that’s led to this moment.” They emphasized that the grocery will draw inspiration from small European markets and will focus on providing high-quality, carefully sourced goods.
What to Expect from Perenn Grocery
Perenn Grocery aims to combine a grocery store, bakery, and café into one cohesive shopping experience. Similar to their existing locations, customers can expect a selection of in-house baked goods, including artisan breads and pastries. Additionally, the grocery will feature local produce, meats, and various pantry items, catering to community needs and preferences.
The current Perenn Grocery in Nevada also offers a range of espresso beverages, enhancing its appeal as a gathering place for customers. This multi-faceted approach aligns with the O’Laskeys’ vision of reviving hospitality in everyday life and providing a welcoming environment for shoppers.
The O’Laskeys are also known for their involvement with Claio Rotisserie, a popular rotisserie-style restaurant in Reno, further showcasing their commitment to quality food and community engagement.
As the opening date approaches, many in the Nashville area are eagerly anticipating what Perenn Grocery will bring to the local food scene. The O’Laskeys’ dedication to quality and their unique concept may redefine the grocery shopping experience in Wedgewood-Houston, making it a must-visit destination for locals and visitors alike.
