Roul’s Deli, a well-known establishment in southern Louisiana, is set to expand its operations with a new location in Lafayette. The deli, which currently operates in Baton Rouge and Ascension Parish, has cultivated a significant following thanks to its freshly made burgers and comfort food offerings. The anticipated Lafayette location marks a strategic move as the company aims to broaden its reach in the region.
The co-owners of Roul’s Deli, Hesham Saymeh and his sister Sara Saymeh, are enthusiastic about this expansion. In an interview with What Now New Orleans, Hesham Saymeh highlighted the importance of social media in fostering connections with customers. “I would definitely credit social media, just as a way to connect with our customers,” Saymeh stated. This approach has allowed the deli to better understand community preferences and strengthen customer relationships.
New Location and Future Plans
The upcoming Lafayette location, situated at 2201 Johnston St., is projected to open in the fall of 2026. This new site will be a fresh build, reflecting the family values and culinary traditions that Roul’s Deli embodies. The Saymeh siblings believe that Lafayette’s vibrant food culture aligns well with their brand ethos. “We believe Lafayette and the area around it have some of the best food, not just in the state but in the country,” said Saymeh.
Roul’s Deli’s menu features an array of comfort foods, including burgers topped with shrimp, crawfish, and house-made jalapeno sauce, alongside pita sandwiches and classic po-boys. This diverse offering is particularly appealing on social media platforms, allowing the deli to showcase its unique dishes effectively.
While the Lafayette branch is the immediate focus, the Saymeh siblings are also open to further expansion in the region, contingent upon discovering suitable opportunities. “We’re very excited to be a part of Lafayette and soon hope to be in other areas of Louisiana,” Saymeh added. The decision to establish the Lafayette location has been under consideration for several years, with the property being monitored for approximately two to three years before finalizing the move.
As Roul’s Deli prepares for its expansion, the owners remain committed to maintaining the quality and community spirit that has defined their business. They aim to not only serve delicious food but also to create a welcoming environment that resonates with local values and traditions. The future looks promising for Roul’s Deli as it embarks on this new chapter in Lafayette, with aspirations to strengthen its presence in southern Louisiana.
