Sandoitchi, a rising name in Japanese cuisine, is set to open its second brick-and-mortar location in Costa Mesa, California. This expansion reflects the growing popularity of the brand, which has garnered a loyal fanbase across the United States since its inception. The new restaurant will be situated at 562 W. 19th St. and is anticipated to open in the first quarter of 2026.
Originally founded in 2020 during the pandemic in Dallas, Sandoitchi quickly made a name for itself, notable for its unique offerings and successful national pop-ups. The concept has attracted attention through participation in high-profile events such as Coachella and the State Fair of Texas. Founder Keith Tran expressed his enthusiasm about the new location, stating, “Though we’re based in Texas, Orange County has always felt like a second home for Sandoitchi since we’ve been part of so many events across Southern California over the past several years.”
The Costa Mesa venue will occupy an area of 1,800 square feet and will operate daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. According to city records, the Orange County Health Department completed multiple plan reviews, granting the establishment permission to begin construction last week. The restaurant aims to contribute to the vibrant and diverse food scene in the region, which has gained significant recognition for its culinary variety.
As Sandoitchi prepares for its grand opening, the anticipation among local food enthusiasts continues to build. The restaurant’s commitment to innovative Japanese cuisine is expected to attract a wide range of customers, further solidifying its place in the ever-evolving gastronomic landscape of Southern California.
