The Setai, Miami Beach has unveiled its newly redesigned lobby bar, Jo’s Bar, a project brought to life by Saladino Design Studios. This transformation builds on the firm’s previous work with Japón, reinforcing The Setai’s commitment to timeless sophistication and world-class craftsmanship. The redesign honors the property’s Art Deco heritage while introducing a modern warmth and energy to the space.
Jo’s Bar, named after its owner, Joe Nakash, serves as a central gathering point within the hotel. Located between Jaya and Japón and overlooking the hotel’s central courtyard, the bar seamlessly connects these celebrated dining destinations. The design features a striking sculptural back bar made from intricately crafted resin blocks that appear to “float.” Each block showcases unique textures and embedded gold leaf, creating a visually stunning centerpiece.
Design and Ambiance
The bar itself is anchored in Rosso Levanto stone, characterized by deep burgundy hues and white veining, enhanced by rounded edges that invite touch. Complementing this artistry, a custom wine tower and hand-painted gold mesh lighting fixtures add an intimate allure to the environment. Together, these elements create a sanctuary within the grandeur of The Setai’s lobby, making Jo’s Bar a destination in its own right.
The food menu features a refined selection of signature dishes from both Jaya and Japón, designed for elegant, shareable dining. Guests can indulge in favorites such as Tuna Crispy Rice with spicy mayo, Miso Black Cod Lettuce Cups, and Wagyu Sliders. Highlights from Jaya include Tuna Tacos and Duck Spring Rolls, along with a premium offering of Caspian Sea Osetra caviar available in Classic and Golden varieties. The menu is available from 17:00 to 23:00, catering to leisurely afternoons or late-night cocktails.
