Toronto’s Chagall Set to Redefine Kosher Dining in November

Toronto is set to experience a transformation in kosher dining with the upcoming opening of Chagall this November. Located in the prestigious Yorkville neighborhood, this intimate restaurant will feature a unique and globally inspired menu crafted by renowned Chef David Adjey, known for his work as both a restaurateur and television personality. Chagall will offer a refined atmosphere alongside its commitment to the dietary laws of Kashruth.

With a limited capacity of just 32 seats, Chagall aims to create a space that fosters connection among guests. Dinner service will be available five nights a week, from Sunday to Thursday, allowing patrons to indulge in a menu designed for sharing and communal dining. The offerings will include a variety of colourful starters, salads, and flavour-forward main courses, highlighted by USDA Prime premium steaks that promise the perfect sear and tenderness reminiscent of New York’s finest steakhouses.

In a statement, Executive Chef David Adjey emphasized the restaurant’s vision: “Chagall is about more than just what’s on the plate. It’s about creating moments, whether it’s the art of tableside service, the surprise of dishes with global flavours, or the feeling of dining somewhere that’s intimate, refined, and featuring a fresh approach to kosher dining.”

A Menu of Global Flavours and Unique Experiences

Chagall’s menu will blend creativity with diverse culinary influences, offering dishes inspired by various cultures, including Korea, Mexico, and Thailand. Guests can expect an array of innovative options, such as mini tacos, fresh shareable salads, kosher ‘filets’, and richly sauced mains that are not typically found in traditional kosher cuisine. To complement the culinary experience, a curated wine list and inventive cocktails will be available, along with an exclusive VIP liquor locker program for patrons seeking personalized storage for their favourite beverages.

The restaurant’s design, crafted by Lori Morris of LMD Design, combines contrasting colors of natural stone with luxurious wood finishes, Catherine Martin Mokum fabrics, Murano glass chandeliers, and custom Italian furniture. This thoughtful design aims to create a sophisticated yet inviting environment for diners.

For larger gatherings, Chagall’s offerings will extend to private dining and events, accommodating up to 300 guests throughout the Windsor Arms Hotel dining and event spaces. This adaptability positions Chagall as an appealing destination for both intimate dinners and significant celebrations.

Chagall’s opening in November 2025 marks a new chapter in Toronto’s culinary landscape, promising an elevated kosher dining experience that prioritizes both quality and creativity. As the restaurant prepares to welcome its first guests, it aims to redefine perceptions of kosher cuisine while fostering a sense of community and connection among diners.
