The WOMADelaide festival has announced its first line-up for the 2026 event, showcasing an impressive array of 49 artists from around the globe. The festival will take place from March 6 to March 9, 2026, in Adelaide’s picturesque Botanic Park, promising an immersive experience in music and cultural diversity.
This year’s program highlights a mix of renowned performers and emerging talents, aiming to create a vibrant atmosphere that captivates audiences. Among the notable acts is the iconic Yothu Yindi, celebrated for their role in bringing Indigenous Australian music to the forefront. Other key performers include country music star Troy Cassar-Daley, hip hop artists Baker Boy and BARKAA, as well as singer-songwriter Kankawa Nagarra.
American indie folk artist Iron & Wine will headline the festival as part of his first Australian tour in several years. New Zealand’s Marlon Williams is set to present his new te reo Māori album, Te Whare Tiwekaweka, alongside the Kapa Haka group Ngā Mātaī Pūrua. Recent performances have shown that artists like Jalen Ngonda and Obongjayar bring an electrifying energy to the stage, and both will make their WOMAD debuts.
WOMADelaide is not just about the headliners; it is also a platform for discovery. The festival encourages attendees to explore new sounds, with artists such as Ghana’s Alogte Oho and His Sounds of Joy, Cuban pianist Roberto Fonseca, and Japanese hip hop artists Kojoe and Hikaru Tanaka contributing to a diverse musical landscape.
The festival will feature a range of performances that cater to various tastes. Renowned DJ Jyoty, Palestinian techno artist Sama’ Abdulhadi, and the British dance group Crazy P will deliver sets that keep the dance floors alive. Australian artists like Bobby Alu and Nattali Rize, the frontwoman of Blue King Brown, will also showcase their latest works.
