Adyen, a leading global financial technology platform, has unveiled two new payment terminals aimed at enhancing in-person payment solutions for businesses. The devices, named the S1E4 Pro and S1F4 Pro, are designed to meet the needs of various sectors, including retail, food and beverage, hospitality, and beauty and wellness.
Innovative Features of the New Terminals
The S1E4 Pro is a robust all-in-one mobile point of sale (POS) device, engineered to endure challenging environments. Rated IP-65, it is both spill and dust proof, and it can withstand drops from a height of 1.5 meters. With a large 6.1-inch screen, the terminal ensures visibility in demanding settings. It operates on the Android 13 operating system and supports multiple payment methods, including tap, insert, swipe, and QR code scanning. The device is also PCI 6 certified and PCI 7 ready, ensuring high security for transactions.
The S1F4 Pro brings versatility to the table with its ability to function as both a countertop POS when docked and a fully mobile terminal when undocked. Equipped with an integrated printer, this device streamlines transactions, significantly reducing customer wait times. It features a larger 6.7-inch screen, a fast Octa-core processor, and the same robust connectivity options as the S1E4 Pro. Both devices are designed to facilitate seamless service and enhance operational efficiency.
Commitment to Customer Experience
Derk Busser, VP of Product at Adyen, emphasized the company’s dedication to transforming in-person payment experiences. “By listening closely to our customers, we’ve identified the key gaps in both our previous offerings and the industry,” he stated. The new terminals are tailored to meet the unique demands of various business environments, ensuring that companies have reliable tools at their disposal.
The S1E4 Pro and S1F4 Pro will be available for order starting in the first quarter of 2026 across Europe, the United Kingdom, North America, New Zealand, and the United Arab Emirates. In the second quarter of 2026, these devices will also roll out to Mexico, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
