Final Weekend Showdown: Waratahs Face Hay for Grand Final Spot

URGENT UPDATE: The final showdown for the last spot in the Group 20 Grand Final is set to unfold this weekend at Leeton No. 1 Oval. The stakes couldn’t be higher as Hay prepares to take on the Waratahs in a match that promises to shake the foundation of the league.

Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, with the first match starting at 9:30 AM. This crucial weekend will determine who advances to face the DPC Roosters in the grand final, making every second count.

Excitement is brewing for Hay, who is riding high on a remarkable six-game winning streak. They recently celebrated their first-ever Ray Thorpe Medal awarded to standout player Ben Arandt. After stunning the Waratahs in their last encounter, Hay is poised to deliver another upset.

However, the Waratahs are not to be underestimated. They are coming into the game with some injury concerns that could hinder their performance. A victory is crucial for the Waratahs as they seek redemption against Hay and a shot at the grand final.

“Every game counts, and this weekend’s match will be pivotal for both teams,” said a league official.

In addition to the main event, the League Tag match will see the Black and Whites challenge the minor premiers in hopes of ending their season early and advancing to face the Mallee Chicks next weekend. This match is expected to draw significant attention, given the stakes involved.

The full match schedule for Sunday is as follows:

  • 9:30 AM: Under 16s – Leeton vs. Black and Whites
  • 10:45 AM: Under 18s – Leeton vs. Waratahs
  • 12:00 PM: League Tag – Leeton vs. Black and Whites
  • 1:10 PM: Reserves – DPC Roosters vs. Waratahs
  • 2:35 PM: Women’s Tackle – Yanco Wamoon vs. Hay
  • 3:00 PM: First Grade – Waratahs vs. Hay

As the excitement builds, fans are urged to arrive early to secure their seats for what promises to be a thrilling day of football. The atmosphere at Leeton No. 1 Oval is expected to be electric as teams battle for glory.

Stay tuned for updates as this story develops and find out who will claim the final spot in the grand final!
