Iramoo Community Centre Urges Public to Craft 1,000 Hearts Now

UPDATE: The Iramoo Community Centre in Wyndham Vale is urgently calling on the public to join their 1000 Hearts program, a heartfelt initiative aimed at spreading kindness and support in the community. Founded by Tasmanian Sarah De Jonge in 2016, this program has inspired countless individuals to craft mini hearts for those in need, and it’s happening right now!

Since launching at the community centre in 2021, the program has already made a significant impact, with over 500 hand-crafted hearts donated to local organizations, including Werribee Mercy Hospital’s palliative care unit and Market Road Veterinary Clinic. These pocket-sized symbols of compassion are designed to uplift spirits and provide emotional support where it matters most.

The next crafting session is scheduled for Thursday, November 13, starting at 10 AM. Everyone is welcome to join and contribute, regardless of crafting experience. Community members are encouraged to come together, share their creative abilities, and spread love through these simple acts of kindness.

“It’s the thought that counts,” says a representative from the Iramoo Community Centre. “We want everyone to feel empowered to participate, no matter their skill level.”

The 1000 Hearts program not only fosters community spirit but also provides a nurturing environment where individuals can connect, support one another, and practice compassion. This initiative has become a beacon of hope, helping those coping with pain and grief.

If you want to make a difference, mark your calendar and join the Iramoo Community Centre on November 13. For more information or to RSVP, contact them at 8742 3688 or visit their website at www.iramoocc.org.au. Don’t miss out on this chance to craft love and hope into the hearts of those who need it most!
