UPDATE: The highly anticipated Perth Royal Show is just days away from its grand opening at Claremont Showground, set to launch this Saturday, September 30, and excitement is reaching a fever pitch. With only three sleeps left, stallholders and ride operators are in a final frenzy of preparations, fine-tuning their attractions for the biggest event of the year in Western Australia.

The atmosphere at Claremont is electric as families put the finishing touches on their rides and culinary delights. Bianca Townsend from Goldenway Amusements emphasized the emotional connection to the show, noting, “The highlight is seeing the joy on the children’s faces.” Her family has been part of this tradition for six generations, and they are ready to deliver an unforgettable experience.

This year, attendees can look forward to an exhilarating new attraction—the Lunarix, an Australian-first pendulum ride that soars 40m into the sky. “It’s scary, I went on it and I wouldn’t do it again,” Townsend remarked, highlighting the thrill that awaits the brave festivalgoers. The ride features eight seats on each end that rotate while the pendulum swings, promising a dizzying experience.

To manage the massive influx of visitors, Townsend has employed nearly 100 staff, including 15 to 20 people flown in each year specifically for setup and logistics. “We have over 70 people dedicated just to catering and food,” she noted, underscoring the extensive effort behind the scenes to ensure a smooth operation.

The excitement surrounding the Perth Royal Show is palpable, as it brings together community members and visitors for ten days of thrilling rides, delicious food, and unforgettable memories. The show runs until October 4, making it an essential experience for anyone in Western Australia.

As the countdown continues, families are eager to create lasting memories, and vendors are ready to impress. With the opening just hours away, this year’s event promises to be a highlight of the state’s calendar. Don’t miss out on the action—mark your calendars and get ready for a spectacular time at Claremont Showground!
