URGENT UPDATE: A devastating motorbike accident on the Gold Coast has claimed the life of Nadia Shevtsova, a beloved 38-year-old photographer, who was involved in a tragic collision with fellow riders on Ashmore Rd in Bundall around 8:15 PM on Friday. This shocking incident has left her family and community in mourning.
Authorities report that during a group ride, three motorcyclists, including Nadia, collided between Chale Ct and Showcase Ct. Despite immediate medical intervention from paramedics, Nadia suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, Vitalii Brokhof, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the emergency services and bystanders who attempted to save her life.
“Thank you for your care, your actions, and your humanity,” he said. “Nadia was the love of my life. She was full of light, strength, and kindness.” Vitalii shared that Nadia’s last ride was a passion she cherished, highlighting the profound impact she had on their family.
In addition to Nadia, a 20-year-old man from another motorcycle involved in the collision is currently in critical condition at Gold Coast University Hospital. A third rider, a 50-year-old man, sustained minor injuries.
Nadia, a mother-of-three from Browns Plains, had built a successful photography business, showcasing her work through her social media. In a touching post to her supporters, Vitalii announced, “There will be no new videos, posts, or photos. Her chapter on Earth has come to an end.” He reflected on their 16 years together, expressing deep love and appreciation for her as a wife and mother.
Amid the outpouring of grief, a witness who was present at the accident scene reached out to Vitalii, stating, “We held her hand and comforted her until we couldn’t anymore. She wasn’t alone.” This sentiment underscores the community’s solidarity in the face of tragedy.
In a grim turn of events, on Saturday, another motorbike rider, a 27-year-old man from Cannon Hill, died in a separate crash involving a car around 12:30 PM. Earlier on Friday, a 19-year-old man from Buderim was also hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after crashing his motorcycle into a road sign in Maroochydore.
