Racing Resumes at Wyong Track After Major Renovations

UPDATE: Racing is set to return to the newly renovated Wyong Race Club this Thursday, November 16, 2023, marking an exciting comeback after a hiatus since the first week of September. Club CEO Greg Purcell confirmed that the track is in “sensational order,” ready to welcome back racing enthusiasts.

The Wyong track has undergone significant upgrades to ensure optimal conditions for the upcoming spring and summer racing seasons. Purcell praised track manager Phil Robinson and his team for their outstanding efforts, stating, “The track needed some ‘TLC’” after enduring a challenging winter.

This reopening comes with an enticing schedule featuring a mix of weekday and weekend meetings. Following Thursday’s event, the club will host additional race days on November 26, the prestigious Magic Millions Race Day on December 10, and a festive Christmas at the Races day on December 20. The season culminates with the club’s standalone meeting, The Lakes Mile, on January 10, 2024.

Purcell expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming racing calendar, emphasizing the growing interest from both local and visiting spectators. “For those who haven’t been to Wyong before—or it’s been a while—come along,” he urged. “Whether you’re a rusted-on racing fan, a casual racegoer, or simply looking for a great social day out, Wyong has you covered.”

With the track improvements and an exciting lineup ahead, the Wyong Race Club is poised for a memorable racing season. For further information, visit wyongraceclub.com.au. Don’t miss the chance to experience the thrill of racing at Wyong!
