UPDATE: A 19-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a serious hit-and-run incident that left a 75-year-old e-bike rider hospitalized. This incident, which took place on July 14, 2025, at the intersection of Clinton and Dalton streets in Orange, has sparked an urgent investigation by local authorities.
Emergency services were called shortly after the crash, where they found the elderly man suffering from significant injuries. Paramedics quickly treated him at the scene before transporting him to Orange Hospital, where he was stabilized. Fortunately, he has since been released from the hospital, but the aftermath of the incident continues to unfold.
Police report that upon arrival, they learned the driver of a Suzuki Swift had failed to stop after colliding with the e-bike. A crime scene was established immediately, prompting a detailed investigation into the alleged hit-and-run.
Later that day, law enforcement officials executed a search at a residence on Margaret Street, where they confiscated the Suzuki Swift for forensic examination. The young woman was subsequently arrested and taken to Orange Police Station.
