Wanglaoji Launches WALOVI International Cans in Sydney, Australia

UPDATE: On October 31, 2025, Wanglaoji launched its highly anticipated WALOVI international cans at the 22nd World Congress of Chinese Medicine in Sydney, Australia. This event marks a pivotal moment in Wanglaoji’s global expansion, solidifying its presence in the Australian market.

The launch not only introduces WALOVI to Australian consumers but also highlights Wanglaoji’s commitment to promoting Eastern wellness philosophy globally. In a statement at the event, Li Xiaojun, Chairman of Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited, emphasized the need for Chinese brands to resonate with young audiences worldwide. “We should tell Chinese stories in a way that appeals to young people around the world,” he stated, urging brands to connect cultural narratives with contemporary interests.

Wanglaoji’s trajectory has been remarkable over its 197-year history, evolving from traditional Chinese medicine to herbal teas and now to natural plant beverages. Fang Dafeng, General Manager of Guangzhou Wang Lao Ji Great Health Industry Co., LTD, remarked on the brand’s adaptability: “We have consistently evolved to meet the demands of the times.”

The partnership with Valucky Australia Pty Ltd will enable Wanglaoji to further penetrate the Australian market, with plans to distribute WALOVI cans through convenience stores, Chinese restaurants, and major online platforms including Woolworths and Costco. This comprehensive distribution network aims to fulfill local demand for healthy beverages, a growing trend among Australian consumers.

According to Frost & Sullivan, WALOVI has dominated global plant beverage sales for the past five years, holding nearly 50% of the domestic market share. The brand has also seen its overseas presence expand by 6.5-fold over the past decade, with an annual growth rate exceeding 25%.

Wanglaoji’s journey began in the early 20th century, with initial appearances in the United States. The launch of its English brand, WALOVI, in 2023, followed by the global debut of its international cans in Shanghai this August, illustrates its rapid ascent on the world stage. The recent expansion into Australia, along with previous entries into Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, positions Wanglaoji as a formidable player in the global beverage market.

As WALOVI international cans hit the shelves in Australia, consumers can expect a blend of tradition and innovation that reflects Wanglaoji’s rich heritage and forward-thinking approach. Stay tuned for more updates on how Wanglaoji’s global strategy unfolds as it continues to bridge cultural gaps and promote wellness worldwide.
