Unreleased Beatles Tracks to Debut in New Anthology Compilation

A new compilation featuring 13 previously unreleased songs by The Beatles is set to be released on November 21, 2023. This new album, titled *Anthology 4*, celebrates the 30th anniversary of the original *Anthology* series, which first premiered in 1995. The series transformed the music documentary genre, presenting candid narratives from band members John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr about their legendary journey.

To commemorate this milestone, fans will not only receive the new album but also a ninth episode of the *Anthology* documentary, which will stream on Disney+. This episode features previously unseen backstage footage of McCartney, Harrison, and Starr collaborating on the *Anthology* collections between 1994 and 1995, reflecting on their experiences in the absence of their late bandmate Lennon, who was tragically killed in December 1980.

Details of the New Compilation

*Anthology 4* will be released in a box set that includes remastered versions of *Anthology 1*, *Anthology 2*, and *Anthology 3*. The remastering has been overseen by Giles Martin, son of the band’s original producer, George Martin. Among the 13 unheard tracks are demos, session recordings, and other rare pieces. Additionally, new mixes of popular singles associated with the *Anthology*, such as *Free As A Bird* and *Real Love*, will be included. These revamped versions have been produced by Jeff Lynne, utilizing de-mixed vocals from Lennon.

The compilation also features *Now And Then*, a Grammy-winning single released in 2023, marking it as the last song attributed to The Beatles. All three singles were developed from basic home demos recorded by Lennon in the 1970s, later completed with contributions from McCartney, Starr, and Harrison, who passed away in November 2001.

Documentary and Cultural Impact

The original *Anthology* series comprises eight episodes that chronicle the Beatles’ remarkable journey from their origins in Liverpool and Hamburg to their global influence. The documentary explores significant events, including Beatlemania, their groundbreaking arrival in America, and their role in the cultural movements of the 1960s. It also delves into their spiritual explorations in India and the circumstances surrounding their eventual breakup.

The production of the new episode and the restoration of the *Anthology* materials has been executed by the team at Apple Corps, in collaboration with Peter Jackson’s Wingnut Films and Park Road Post. Giles Martin has created new audio mixes for much of the music featured in the compilation. The *Anthology* albums collectively offer a total of 191 tracks, which will be available for digital purchase and streaming, as well as in deluxe formats including 12LP 180-gram vinyl and 8CD box sets.

These box sets will also include original sleeve notes from *Anthology 1*, *Anthology 2*, and *Anthology 3*. Additionally, *Anthology 4* will feature track notes authored by Kevin Howlett and an introduction compiled from interviews with the Beatles’ close friend and adviser, Derek Taylor, recorded in 1996. Exclusive editions available through The Beatles Store will include four 12-inch photo art cards in a numbered envelope.

The entire *Anthology* documentary series, including the new episode, will become available for streaming on Disney+ from November 26, 2023, allowing fans to celebrate the enduring legacy of one of the most influential bands in music history.
