Urgent: Berlusconi’s Villa Certosa Set for $900M Sale to Buyer

UPDATE: The iconic Villa Certosa, once owned by the late former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, is on the verge of a groundbreaking sale for approximately €500 million ($896 million). This high-profile transaction is reportedly in negotiations with a wealthy Arab businessman, as confirmed by Sotheby’s.

The villa, infamous for its lavish “bunga bunga” parties, features a captivating array of amenities including a James Bond-like sea cave, an artificial volcano, and a fake Roman amphitheatre. With its rich history involving notable guests like Tony Blair, George W. Bush, and Vladimir Putin, the sale could set a record as the most expensive residential property ever sold, according to luxury real estate listings site Mansion Global.

Villa Certosa spans several levels, boasting 68 rooms with panoramic terraces that offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The estate is adorned with landscaped gardens, medicinal plants, and even a stone tower, making it a unique and extravagant piece of real estate.

Reports indicate that the property also includes multiple swimming pools, beds of Mexican cacti, and megalithic stone circles. The artificial volcano, notorious for its dramatic eruptions, once led to a fire brigade intervention when it spewed flames and smoke too intensely in 2006.

As negotiations progress, the global real estate market watches closely. If finalized, this sale would not only mark a significant financial transaction but also highlight the enduring allure of luxury properties in extraordinary locales like Sardinia.

In the coming days, more details are expected to emerge about the potential buyer and future plans for Villa Certosa. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story as it unfolds.
