Mitch Churi Launches Podcasting Venture: The Mitch Churi Chat Show

BREAKING: Award-winning broadcaster Mitch Churi is set to revolutionize Australian podcasting with the launch of The Mitch Churi Chat Show on September 10, 2023. After leaving commercial radio earlier this year, Churi has quickly pivoted to this exciting new platform, promising engaging and unfiltered conversations with high-profile guests.

The podcast will feature long-form discussions, echoing a modern late-night talk show format, and will be available in both audio and video formats. Full episodes will stream on YouTube, with highlights shared on TikTok and Instagram Reels, catering to the digital-savvy audience. Churi aims to fill a significant gap in the market, stating, “This show is the full version – think Call Her Daddy meets The Graham Norton Show, but made for Australians.”

In addition to celebrity interviews, the podcast will showcase a rotating panel of commentators dissecting the week’s most significant pop culture events. With over 220 million views on his previous interviews, Churi’s venture into podcasting is poised to capture substantial attention.

“This podcast fills a gap in the market I first noticed while working in radio,” Churi remarked. “I was constantly recording fantastic, nuanced, and vulnerable interviews that would be chopped down to just a few minutes.”

The shift from traditional radio to podcasting marks a pivotal moment for Churi, who is eager to build his personal brand as an independent creator. Recognized for his charisma and humor, Churi has received accolades such as Best Music Presenter at the 2022 Australian Commercial Radio and Audio Awards and was named “Australia’s Most Relatable Broadcaster” by TalentCorp in 2024.

Partnering with Acast, a leader in podcast hosting and distribution, Churi will maintain creative control while benefiting from their production and monetization support. “Working with Acast has been a dream,” he shared, emphasizing their collaborative approach. Ryan Lamont, Senior Development Manager for Acast ANZ, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting that Churi’s storytelling prowess and pop culture insight will bring fresh energy to the podcasting landscape.

As traditional late-night shows decline in popularity, Churi’s podcast is perfectly timed to capture the growing audience for celebrity interviews and cultural commentary in Australia. The Mitch Churi Chat Show aims to become a new hub for entertainment, aiming to resonate with listeners and viewers across the nation.

With the launch just days away, fans and followers are eagerly anticipating what Churi has in store. Be sure to tune in on September 10 for the inaugural episode and join the conversation as this new chapter in podcasting unfolds.
