UPDATE: Thailand has just launched the “Trusted Thailand” Stamp, a new initiative aimed at restoring global confidence in its tourism sector. Announced on August 27, 2025, by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), this program is designed to reassure international travelers about safety and reliability in the kingdom.
The “Trusted Thailand” Stamp is a proactive measure to enhance Thailand’s image as a welcoming destination. It aims to provide peace of mind to visitors while recognizing tourism operators that meet stringent safety standards. According to Jakkaphon Tangsutthitham, Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports, the Thai government emphasizes that safety is the cornerstone of sustainable tourism. “This launch reflects an invitation to all tourism operators and stakeholders to collaborate in advancing Thailand’s tourism towards secure and sustainable growth,” he stated.
As global travel resumes, safety remains a top priority, especially for families, female travelers, and visitors from key markets such as China, South Korea, and Japan. Negative reports can severely impact a destination’s image, making this initiative crucial for Thailand’s recovery.
The “Trusted Thailand” Stamp will be awarded to tourism operators after a thorough assessment focusing on four key areas:
1. General safety measures at tourism sites, including the installation of CCTV and emergency response systems.
2. Secure financial transactions using recognized global platforms like Alipay and WeChat Pay.
3. Effective communication in foreign languages and professional visitor care during emergencies.
4. Safe access and mobility, ensuring clear signposting and reliable transport connections.
In addition to certification, the TAT will host public forums and workshops aimed at enhancing integrated safety management. These initiatives will prepare operators for the upcoming high season, particularly targeting markets in China, Europe, and the Americas.
A dedicated mini-site will be launched in September 2025, providing a self-assessment tool for operators and a directory of certified businesses for visitors. The nationwide rollout of the Thailand Safe Travel Stamp is set for October 2025, with extensive publicity planned through multilingual content and targeted digital campaigns.
Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, emphasized that the stamp is more than just a symbol. “It represents our commitment to making Thailand a destination where every visitor feels secure and truly welcome,” she remarked.
As Thailand positions itself to reclaim its status as a top global destination, the “Trusted Thailand” Stamp serves as a beacon of assurance for travelers worldwide. Authorities encourage everyone in the tourism sector to engage in this initiative, which promises to reshape perceptions and solidify Thailand’s commitment to safety and hospitality.
With travel confidence at stake, this is a crucial moment for Thailand’s tourism industry, and the world is watching closely.
