UPDATE: Hume Council is urgently seeking input from residents to transform two underutilized community spaces in Meadow Heights. The Meadow Heights Community Centre and the Visy Cares Learning Centre have seen a significant decline in activity, prompting officials to explore how these facilities can better serve local needs.
In a partnership with the community planning group Communityvibe, Hume Council has launched an immediate consultation process aimed at gathering insights from local residents, families, and community groups. The goal is to identify the most crucial services, programs, and facilities that can revitalize these community centres.
Residents are encouraged to submit their ideas on how to enhance these spaces to support activities, programs, and events. Suggestions for new services that could be offered locally are also welcomed. This consultation is not just a formality; it aims to repurpose otherwise unused community centres and guide the council in improving their utilization in the future.
The consultation period is set from Monday, August 25 to Sunday, September 28. Following this, community feedback will be reviewed throughout October and November. Key recommendations based on this feedback will be presented to the council in December of this year.
Feedback can be easily submitted via an online survey or by emailing [email protected]. Hume Council emphasizes that the responses will play a critical role in shaping decisions on how to upgrade and repurpose these two sites, ensuring they transform into welcoming and useful places for all Meadow Heights residents.
This is an essential opportunity for the community to voice its needs and participate in the development of local resources. The council is keen on making these centres vibrant hubs that foster connection and engagement within the community. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this vital conversation!
