Global Muslim Content Summit Ignites Movement in Kuala Lumpur

UPDATE: The inaugural Global Muslim Content Summit (GMC Summit) has just concluded in Kuala Lumpur, marking a pivotal moment for Muslim media. Over 400 creators, media professionals, and scholars from more than 40 countries gathered on July 12-13, 2025, to launch a transformative global movement aimed at empowering Muslims to create impactful content.

Hosted by OnePath Network at The Westin Kuala Lumpur, this groundbreaking event was more than a conference; it was a rallying call for Muslims to share their narratives with integrity and passion. The summit opened with a powerful address from Nurul Izzah Anwar, a prominent Malaysian politician, who underscored the need for authentic representation in media.

The vision for the summit was articulated by Malaz Majanni, CEO of OnePath Network, who emphasized the importance of using media as a tool for dawah and social impact. He stated, “We believe in the power of content and media… Together we’re planting seeds that, with Allah’s help, will grow into lasting impact.”

The event was energized by Muhammad Abdul-Aleem, an American Muslim content creator and former professional basketball player, who served as the MC, infusing warmth and humor into the proceedings. Featured speakers included renowned figures like Mufti Menk, Na’ima B. Robert, and Imam Tom Facchine, who shared their insights on the future of Islamic storytelling.

The GMC Summit focused on critical themes such as faith-driven storytelling, digital strategy, and the role of women in Muslim media. Attendees participated in workshops designed to enhance their skills, whether they were just starting out or looking to scale their efforts globally. The atmosphere was a blend of professionalism and spirituality, igniting a collective commitment to elevate Muslim narratives.

A standout moment came with a live podcast performance by Safi Bros, showcasing the creativity and boldness emerging from the Muslim media landscape. This event has already sparked excitement among attendees, with many expressing optimism about future collaborations and projects.

Attendees praised the GMC Summit for its intentionality and high caliber of speakers. Ahmad Shuaib, Co-Founder of SalaamTix, remarked, “This summit delivered on every level… The quality of discussions and insights made it a standout experience.” The feedback underscores a shared sentiment that this gathering could catalyze a new era in Muslim media.

The summit was supported by notable sponsors including Human Appeal Australia and Cinta Gaza Malaysia, who believe in fostering authentic, Muslim-led media. Their contributions helped create an environment where creators could connect, share ideas, and collaborate on meaningful projects.

As the buzz from the summit continues to spread online, OnePath Network is already planning the next GMC Summit, with a renewed commitment to empowering Muslims to utilize media for impactful storytelling. This event has set the stage for a global movement—one that prioritizes truth, beauty, and strength in telling Muslim stories.

Stay tuned for more updates and developments from the GMC Summit, as the community looks to leverage this momentum to shape the future of Islamic media.
