Woman Charged with Attempted Murder in Blue Mountains Stabbing

UPDATE: A woman has been charged with two counts of attempted murder following a shocking double stabbing incident in Leura, Blue Mountains, just over a week ago. The incident occurred on August 24, 2023, when police responded to an emergency call at approximately 7:30 AM on Myall Ave.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered two men with multiple stab wounds. Both victims were swiftly transported to Westmead Hospital, where they underwent urgent surgery and remain hospitalized. Meanwhile, a 67-year-old woman, known to the victims, was found unconscious at the scene. She was taken to Nepean Hospital for treatment and has since been arrested.

The woman was charged on Monday with two counts of cause wounding/grievous bodily harm with intent to murder. Bail has been refused, and she is expected to make an appearance in Penrith Local Court directly from her hospital bed on Tuesday.

This alarming incident has raised significant concern within the community. As police continue their investigation, residents are urged to remain vigilant.
