Multiple Arrests Made After Wodonga Burglary and Car Theft

URGENT UPDATE: Multiple arrests have been made following a dramatic series of events linked to a burglary and car theft at a home in Wodonga. Authorities confirmed that four individuals were apprehended in a stolen vehicle on McFarland Road at approximately 3 PM on September 11.

The chaos began late on September 10 when a vehicle was stolen from Melrose Drive around 10 PM. Just hours later, at 4:30 AM on September 11, police responded to a minor burglary incident at a Wodonga property. Three suspects, all in their early 20s, allegedly broke in, damaged a door, and stole a scooter before fleeing the scene.

Authorities quickly connected the trio to the stolen vehicle they were found in, leading to their arrest. A fourth individual, unrelated to the burglary, was also charged with car theft. The group faces serious charges including burglary, theft, trespassing, and theft of a motor vehicle.

In a related development, police recovered a stolen welder valued at $3,000 from a property on Morrison Street later that afternoon. The four suspects have been released on bail and are scheduled to appear in Wodonga court on January 6, 2024.

This incident raises concerns about local safety and crime rates in the Wodonga area. Police are urging residents to report suspicious activities as investigations continue. Stay tuned for further updates as this situation develops.
