Police Seize Firearms, Explosives in Campbellfield Raid

URGENT UPDATE: Police have just seized a significant cache of firearms and explosives linked to a serious organized crime group in Campbellfield. Following a raid executed on August 15, 2023, Broadmeadows Police discovered a stolen vehicle with cloned number plates inside a factory, uncovering seven firearms including high-powered rifles, shotguns, and a loaded automatic rifle, along with explosives capable of demolishing a building.

This alarming seizure highlights the potential threat posed by organized crime in the community. Detective Inspector Graham Banks stated, “These are items that could have wreaked immense destruction in our community and resulted in the deaths of large numbers of people.” The investigation revealed that the 32-year-old woman, arrested and charged, was allegedly storing and transporting these weapons on behalf of a crime syndicate with international links.

Further raids took place on September 23, 2023, in Doreen and Dandenong, where police confiscated mobile phones, cash, and additional number plates. The woman is facing multiple charges related to firearms, explosives, and theft, and she is scheduled to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on September 24, 2023.

The severity of this case has raised concerns among law enforcement and the community alike. Authorities urge anyone with information to assist in the ongoing investigation. Citizens can contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.

As this investigation unfolds, the implications of these discoveries resonate deeply within the community, emphasizing the urgent need for vigilance against organized crime. Stay tuned for more updates as police continue their efforts to dismantle this dangerous network.
