URGENT UPDATE: The highly anticipated Puppy’s & Paw’s Expo is officially scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2023, from 9 AM to 2 PM at Richmond Oval in Hawkesbury. After a weather-related postponement earlier this year, this community celebration is ready to deliver a tail-wagging experience for pet lovers and families alike.
This vibrant event, hosted by local animal advocate Bianca Santucci of Barking with Bianca, aims to celebrate the cherished bond between humans and their pets. “We all know how the Hawkesbury folk love their pets!” said Santucci, underscoring the event’s significance to the local community.
Attendees can expect an array of exciting activities, including competitions for the Best Farm Dog at 10:00 AM, Best Community Connector Dog at 10:15 AM, and Best Dressed Dog at 10:30 AM. The expo will also feature numerous stalls showcasing local businesses, interactive activities for the whole family, and engaging educational demonstrations.
Among the highlights, SASH will provide free veterinary checks, while WIRES will lead wildlife education sessions. Local favorites like Ruff Track will offer show bags and games, and aspiring pet owners can meet adorable rescue cats seeking forever homes through Serenity Art by Janine. Children can join painting activities with Colour Fun Umbrella, ensuring fun for all ages.
Bianca Santucci’s journey into animal care began with volunteering at the RSPCA after a challenging career shift. She turned her passion for animals into a thriving business that not only meets the needs of pet owners but also fosters community connections. “It’s about creating relationships,” Santucci emphasized. Her mission includes supporting families, educating the community, and promoting the powerful bond between pets and mental health.
The expo has garnered strong local support with sponsors such as Lovies Test & Tag as the Gold Sponsor, Bianca Griffiths as Silver Sponsor, and Hawkesbury Business Hub as Bronze Sponsor, highlighting the event’s importance within the community.
As the day approaches, excitement is building. The expo is expected to draw a large crowd eager to engage in pet-friendly fun, educational opportunities, and community bonding. “This is just the beginning,” Santucci said, envisioning a future where people can connect, learn, and interact with animals in a sanctuary-style space.
Mark your calendars and prepare for a day filled with joy, education, and connection at the Puppy’s & Paw’s Expo.
