Nominations have officially opened for the 2024 Barossa Australia Day Citizen of the Year Awards. The Barossa Council is urging local residents to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the community. This initiative aims to celebrate the achievements of those who embody the spirit of the Barossa region.

The awards include several categories, such as Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, and Community Event of the Year. Each nomination should highlight the nominee’s dedication, impact, and the positive changes they have brought to the community.

Submissions will be accepted until November 30, 2023. The council encourages all community members to participate in recognizing the hard work and commitment of their fellow residents. Nominees can be anyone who has made a difference, from volunteers to educators and community leaders.

Community Involvement and Recognition

The Barossa region is known for its strong sense of community, and these awards aim to strengthen that bond. The Barossa Council emphasizes the importance of acknowledging the efforts of those who contribute to making the area a better place to live. By nominating deserving candidates, residents can help shine a light on the selfless acts and initiatives that often go unnoticed.

Winners will be announced during the Australia Day celebrations on January 26, 2024, providing an opportunity for the community to gather and honor these individuals. The council encourages everyone to reflect on the positive influences within their community and consider who might deserve this recognition.

In addition to individual awards, the event will also feature various activities aimed at promoting community spirit and engagement. This year’s celebration promises to be a meaningful occasion, fostering connections and showcasing the contributions of Barossa’s citizens.

For those interested in submitting a nomination, more details can be found on the Barossa Council’s official website. The council is looking forward to seeing the community’s enthusiasm in recognizing the inspiring individuals who have positively impacted the Barossa region.
