Busselton Couple Wins $30,000 at International Window Film Competition

Brent and Christina Caithness of Complete Film Solutions took home a grand prize of $30,000 at a s year’s International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off in America.

BREAKING NEWS: A Busselton couple has just secured a spectacular victory at the International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off in Reno, Nevada, winning $30,000 in prizes. Brent and Christina Caithness, owners of Complete Film Solutions, were crowned grand champions on September 11, marking a major milestone in their career.

This win is not just a financial boost but a testament to their dedication and creativity in the competitive decorative film industry. The couple previously reached the finals in both 2022 and 2024, earning gold in their debut year and winning the people’s choice award last year. Their consistent performance highlights their commitment to excellence and innovation.

Mr. Caithness shared, “We felt we had reached a plateau in the Australian market and decided it was time to look beyond our borders.” Their pursuit of new opportunities led them to this prestigious international event, where they aimed to discover films that have yet to enter the Australian market.

The competition is highly selective, with only four teams invited to showcase their skills live. Each team has just three hours to install their film design in front of a judging panel and an audience. This year’s theme, “Between Peaks and Possibilities,” inspired the couple to incorporate the stunning local geography of Reno into their design, featuring mountain ranges and desert landscapes.

“We wanted to represent both the beauty of the area and the journey of growth in our industry—starting from an employee to becoming business owners and mentors,” Mr. Caithness explained. Their creative vision not only reflects the physical landscape but also symbolizes the potential for development within their profession.

The conference is recognized as one of the most competitive platforms in the window film sector, emphasizing the significance of this achievement for the Caithness couple. Their success not only brings recognition to their business but also sets a precedent for other Australian competitors.

As they return home, the couple aims to use their winnings to expand their business and explore new projects in decorative films. “We’ve made wonderful friends over the years and we truly enjoy seeing the end result of our hard work,” Mr. Caithness stated.

This victory is a significant step for the couple and a hopeful sign for the Australian decorative film industry as they bring home new ideas and techniques from the international stage.

WHAT’S NEXT: Keep an eye on the Caithnesses as they plan to share their experience and insights from the competition, potentially inspiring a new wave of creativity in Australia. Their journey illustrates the importance of venturing beyond local markets to achieve greater heights, encouraging others in the industry to follow suit.
