Amo Sami’s Shawarma Expands with New Franchises in Detroit Suburbs

Amo Sami’s Shawarma, a popular destination for authentic shawarma, is set to expand into two new locations in the suburbs of Detroit this year. The chain has announced that it will open franchises in Warren and Southgate, although specific addresses are still pending confirmation as the process is in its early stages. If all proceeds as planned, both locations are expected to welcome customers by the end of 2023.

Currently, Amo Sami’s Shawarma operates three established locations: one in Wayne at 38800 Michigan Avenue, another in Dearborn at 720 Town Center Drive, and a third in Sterling Heights at 5950 15 Mile Road. The Wayne location was the first to open as a franchise, marking the beginning of the company’s expansion journey. Founded by Sami Rayshouny, this family-owned restaurant aims to broaden its reach, with plans to establish further franchises in both Michigan and Florida.

The chain’s menu features a variety of dishes that bring a taste of Old Beirut to the heart of Metro Detroit. Their signature sandwich, known as the Amo Sami, has gained significant attention recently, with some describing it as “breaking the internet.” Other popular menu items include the Beirut Sami and the Chicken Shawarma Sami. Customers can place orders either in-store or through their website at amosamis.com.

Inquiries made to Mahdi Baydoun, the franchisee for the Southgate location, did not yield a response. The franchisee for the Warren location has yet to be determined. Further updates on these new locations are anticipated in the coming weeks as Amo Sami’s Shawarma continues to build its brand in the region.

With its commitment to delivering authentic flavors and a growing presence in the fast-casual dining scene, Amo Sami’s Shawarma is poised for continued success as it expands into new communities.
