Urgent: Two-Car Crash Closes Busy Wagga Road, Injuries Reported

UPDATE: A serious two-car crash has just closed a busy road in Wagga Wagga this afternoon. Emergency services rushed to the scene on Hampden Avenue in North Wagga at 3 PM on October 17, 2023, following reports of a head-on collision.

The crash occurred near Wilks Park, leading to the closure of Hampden Avenue between the intersections of Fitzmaurice Street and Wall Street. Authorities confirm that traffic is significantly impacted as responders work at the site.

A spokesperson from NSW Ambulance reported that two individuals are being assessed by paramedics. One of the casualties, a man believed to be in his 40s, remains trapped inside one of the vehicles and is receiving treatment for head and chest injuries. The other driver, a woman in her 30s, sustained minor injuries and is being treated on the scene.

Emergency services, including police, firefighters, and volunteer rescue members, are actively managing the situation. The road will remain closed as investigations continue and vehicles are cleared.
