Woman Injured Attempting to Stop Car Thieves in Melbourne

UPDATE: A woman has been hospitalized after a harrowing encounter with car thieves in Elwood, a suburb of Melbourne, late last night. At approximately 11:45 PM on November 4, she attempted to intervene as two men allegedly tried to tow her BMW sedan away.

According to police reports, the woman and her partner returned home just in time to witness the theft in progress on Grieg Court. In a desperate bid to stop the thieves, they crashed their vehicle into the white Jeep and the trailer being used to tow the BMW.

“In an attempt to stop the theft, they crashed their car into the Jeep and the trailer,” investigators stated. The woman, who was in the front passenger seat, exited their vehicle to confront the situation directly. As the suspects abandoned their towing attempt and attempted to flee in the Jeep, the woman was struck by the trailer, resulting in injuries.

Despite suffering non-life-threatening injuries, she is currently recovering in a local hospital. Local authorities are actively investigating the incident and have urged anyone with information to come forward. Police emphasize the importance of community support in apprehending these alleged criminals.
