UPDATE: Two individuals have been arrested following a police investigation that linked a burglary to a significant cannabis cultivation operation in Moncrieff early this morning, October 21, 2023. Authorities report that they received a complaint on October 18 regarding unusual activities at a residence in Moncrieff. Over the following days, police monitored the situation closely. On October 21, the occupant returned home to discover that valuables, including two televisions and various luxury items, had been stolen.
In response, an ACT Policing team executed a search warrant nearby, where they unearthed a cannabis cultivation site containing 14 cannabis plants along with other suspected stolen goods. This operation underscores the ongoing battle against drug-related crimes in the area.
Both suspects, a man and a woman, are facing multiple charges including the cultivation of more than four cannabis plants, aggravated burglary, and property damage. They were set to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court later today.
