Urgent Rescue: Teen Boy Airlifted to Hospital After Fall

UPDATE: A teenage boy has been urgently airlifted to Canberra Hospital following a serious fall on rocks at Murrah Beach on the Far South Coast of New South Wales. Emergency services responded to the incident at approximately 6 PM on November 10, where multiple agencies worked together in a dramatic rescue operation.

Authorities received reports of the boy sustaining injuries after falling on rocks at the southern end of the beach. Upon arrival, NSW Police, NSW Ambulance, RFS (Rural Fire Service), and VRA (Volunteer Rescue Association) crews quickly assessed the situation. Due to the nature of the injuries, the decision was made to winch the patient out using the Toll Rescue Helicopter.

A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance confirmed that the boy was located at Bunga Beach, situated between Barragga Bay to the north and Wapengo to the south. “Someone had fallen on the rocks and hit his head,” the spokesperson explained. “It was a fall from standing, so it wasn’t from a height.”

The teenage victim suffered multiple seizures following the fall, prompting the urgent need for professional medical intervention. A critical care paramedic and a doctor from the Toll rescue helicopter were winched down to assess the boy’s condition before transporting him to the hospital.

This incident underscores the potential dangers of coastal activities, particularly in rocky areas where falls can lead to serious injuries. The rapid response from multiple emergency services highlights the importance of teamwork in life-threatening situations.

As this story develops, updates will be provided regarding the boy’s condition and any further details surrounding the rescue operation. Stay tuned for more information on this urgent situation.
