A young man is currently fighting for his life following a serious fall at a construction site in St Leonards, Sydney. The incident occurred around 9:35 AM on October 4, 2023, when the man, who is in his 20s, fell approximately 3 meters while working on a project located on Canberra Ave.
Rescue crews responded swiftly to the scene, employing a stretcher to secure the injured worker. Fire and Rescue NSW utilized an on-site crane to lower the stretcher safely to waiting paramedics. Superintendent Adam Dewberry emphasized the importance of workplace safety in light of the incident. “Let’s stay safe, everyone,” he stated. “We want to send everyone home safely. Particularly from your work sites.”
The young man was transported to the hospital in critical condition, highlighting the potential dangers associated with construction work. As investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fall continue, WorkSafe NSW has been contacted for further comment.
