UPDATE: Whittlesea Council has just announced its ambitious Economic Growth Strategy for 2026-2036, aiming to secure a decade of prosperity for one of Australia’s fastest-growing municipalities. With the population projected to surge by more than 40% by 2040, the urgency for strategic economic planning has never been greater. Over the past five years, Whittlesea has created around 2,000 new jobs annually, yet employment growth is lagging behind the rapid population increase. Community engagement is set to begin in mid-November, where residents will have the opportunity to contribute to shaping this vital economic strategy.
