Hume Council Urgently Seeks Feedback on Greenvale Park Redesign

URGENT UPDATE: Hume Council is calling on Greenvale residents to participate in shaping the future of Bradford Avenue Reserve. The council has just announced a major upgrade to the park’s play space and sportsground, aiming to enhance outdoor activities for the rapidly growing community.

This redevelopment is crucial as the current playground, which has served the community for over 20 years, is no longer compliant with Australian standards. The council is actively seeking local feedback on three proposed play space designs, each tailored to accommodate various age groups and play styles, ensuring that children can thrive physically, socially, and emotionally.

Residents can view the designs and cast their votes through the Participate Hume website until Friday, December 19, 2025. To contribute your opinion, you must be registered on the site. This is a unique opportunity for families to influence the amenities that will enrich their community.

The proposed upgrades include modern play equipment, enhanced amenities like seating, a barbecue area, a picnic shelter, and a drinking fountain, all designed to create a welcoming environment for families and visitors alike.

The three options for the play space feature distinct elements:
Option A: Incorporates monkey bars and a climbing cube integrated with a senior slide, promoting strength and adventurous play for children up to 12 years old.
Option B: Similar to Option A, but the climbing cube is strategically placed away from the main slide for varied play experiences.
Option C: Focuses on younger children with a stand-alone cubby house designed for imaginative play.

Each design emphasizes activities such as swinging, balancing, spinning, sliding, and climbing, supporting comprehensive development for children.

This initiative highlights the council’s commitment to fostering an active community and ensuring that the park meets the diverse needs of its residents.
