Investigation Underway

The forensic crash unit is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Neighbours expressed their shock at the event but chose not to comment further when approached by media representatives.

Joe McCabe, the chief executive of Townsville City Council, acknowledged the seriousness of the incident. “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those impacted,” he stated. He confirmed that the council is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.

Due to the sensitive nature of the situation, McCabe indicated that the council would refrain from making additional comments at this time. “Out of respect for those involved and due to the ongoing investigations, council will not be making further comment,” he added.
