As chaos unfolded, Sam Page, who was leaving his friend’s bucks party, witnessed the driver fleeing the wreck. “I saw them running up the road and thought, ‘Why not stop what’s happening?’” Page recounted. His heroic decision led him to intervene, stating, “I went outside and decided to become a hero. I feel like Australian of the year; I feel like I should be nominated for that.”
