The Rattler Christmas Community Fair is set to bring festive joy to Gympie on December 6, 2023. The fair will take place from 09:30 to 16:00 at the Gympie Historic Railway Station, offering a full day of entertainment, shopping, and activities for families.
Organized by the Mary Valley Rattler team, the event promises non-stop entertainment featuring local talent. Attendees can enjoy performances from Gympie’s best singers, dance schools, and musical theatre groups throughout the day.
In addition to entertainment, the fair will feature a variety of market stalls, providing ample opportunities for pre-Christmas shopping. Vendors include Isobel Lane, Everything Dogz, Healthy Rainbow Art, and many more. Food options will cater to diverse tastes, with offerings from Rusty Rails Café, Kylie’s Sweet Treats Ice Cream Van, and Aaliyah’s Slushies and Confectionery.
Children will find plenty of activities to keep them engaged, such as Camel Rides, an Old MacDonald’s Farm Petting Zoo, and face painting by Ebony Rose. Additionally, the event will feature unique timber-made toad racing experiences. Families can also capture festive memories with special Santa Paws photos in front of the historic C17 967 steam train.
Tickets for the fair are priced at $15, while rides on the Silver Bullet Train to Monkland will be available for just $10. This experience allows guests to step back in time and appreciate a piece of history. To ensure availability, bookings for both the Santa Paws photos and train rides can be made through the official website or by contacting Gympie Station at 07 5482 2750.
Sherry Lowe, General Manager of the Mary Valley Rattler, emphasized the fair’s role in strengthening community ties. “We are spirit by name, spirit by nature, and that same community spirit drives everything we do here at the Mary Valley Rattler,” Lowe stated. She highlighted the organization’s commitment to giving back, noting that they have provided over $50,000 in support for local schools, charities, and clubs.
The Christmas Community Fair serves as a celebration of local spirit and unity, while also marking the start of the Christmas season in style. For further details about the event, visit www.maryvalleyrattler.com.au.
