URGENT UPDATE: A tragic incident has claimed the life of 15-year-old Muhammed Kendirci in Sanliurfa, Turkey, following a horrifying prank involving a high-pressure air hose. The incident, which occurred on Friday, has shocked the local community and raised serious concerns about workplace safety.
According to reports from local news outlet Milliyet, Kendirci was overpowered and restrained by his co-worker, Habip Aksoy, along with another unidentified colleague at the woodworking shop. The perpetrators allegedly forcibly removed his pants and tied his hands before inserting an air compressor hose into his rectum, leading to catastrophic internal injuries.
Kendirci was rushed to Harran University Research and Application Hospital after receiving initial treatment at local facilities. Despite five days in intensive care, he succumbed to his injuries, passing away on Wednesday.
This disturbing prank is not an isolated incident. The high-pressure air hose, commonly used in auto repair and carpentry, has been linked to similar fatal events globally. In 2023, a 16-year-old named Motilal Sahu died in India under similar circumstances, and in 2017, 17-year-old Wesner Moreira da Silva lost his life after a prank at a car wash in Brazil.
The shocking nature of Kendirci’s death has prompted authorities to launch an investigation. While Aksoy was initially arrested and released on probation, he has since been detained again as the situation develops. It remains unclear what charges he will face.
This tragic event highlights not only the dangers of reckless behavior among youths but also raises questions about the culture within workplaces that may allow such actions to occur.
As the investigation unfolds, the community and the families affected are left grappling with the devastating consequences of this incident. Stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available.
