Doja Cat Arrives Three Hours Late to Melbourne Show, Fans Outraged

Fans of Doja Cat expressed their frustration after the singer arrived three hours late to a pop-up performance in Melbourne on November 26, 2025. This unexpected delay left many attendees feeling disappointed, particularly as they had paid up to $130 for a chance to see her perform. The event, held at Ms Collins nightclub in the city’s central business district, was intended to be a special preview ahead of her scheduled show at the sold-out Rod Laver Arena on November 28.

The situation escalated when Doja Cat ultimately performed only three songs during a brief set that lasted approximately 15 minutes. Attendees were eager to hear hits like “Say So,” but instead, she showcased “Agora Hills,” “Take Me Dancing,” and “Jealous Type.” During the performance, she took sips of tea and signed fans’ CDs, which did little to appease those who had waited for hours.

Many fans took to social media to express their disappointment. One attendee voiced their anger on X, stating, “Waited four hours at Ms Collins for Doja and she only sang for 10 mins. I’m so fucking pissed off.” Another echoed this sentiment, lamenting, “Three songs and so much money later I’m heartbroken.”

The late arrival and short performance followed Doja Cat’s earlier show at Perth’s RAC Arena, where she had revealed on TikTok that she was on vocal rest. In a video, she thanked her Perth audience, describing the night as “fucking amazing,” but also acknowledged that she would need to take care of her voice, which had caused concern for fans.

This incident is not the first controversy surrounding Doja Cat’s current tour. During her run of shows in New Zealand, she faced backlash for the lack of costume changes in her set. In response to the criticism, she asserted her independence as an artist on social media, stating, “I’m not your fucking costume monkey… you are not the artist, you are the watcher.”

Adding to the drama, during her Perth performance, she made headlines by eating a fan’s sign that read, “Fuck costume changes,” a move that further ignited discussions about her engagement with the audience.

Following her Melbourne appearance, Doja Cat is scheduled to perform at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on November 29, before concluding her Australian tour with two shows in Sydney in early December. As the tour progresses, fans will be watching closely to see how she navigates the challenges and expectations that come with live performances.
