The Hume Crime Investigation Unit is actively investigating an affray that occurred in Broadmeadows on the afternoon of March 15, 2024. Multiple emergency calls were received around 17:00 regarding a Kia and a Volkswagen Golf reportedly driving erratically on Dimboola Road. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the Kia rammed the Volkswagen several times before both vehicles veered onto the wrong side of Pascoe Vale Road, ultimately colliding with a civilian vehicle.
In a troubling turn of events, the victim, a 20-year-old man from Broadmeadows, exited one of the vehicles and was subsequently stabbed in the upper body. He was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries.
Following the incident, law enforcement arrested four males in connection with the affray. Among those apprehended are a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old from the Hume area, a 23-year-old man from Romsey, and a 24-year-old man from Sunbury. These individuals have been released while police continue their inquiries.
According to authorities, several individuals fled the scene prior to police arrival, complicating the investigation.
