Denver’s Mirada Fine Art Gallery to Close After 16 Years

Denver is preparing to bid farewell to the Mirada Fine Art Gallery, a cherished institution in the city’s art community, which has announced its closure after 16 years of operation. The gallery’s owners, Steve and Jenni Sonnen, are retiring and will close the gallery’s doors permanently on December 24, 2025. In light of this significant transition, the gallery is conducting a major sale featuring substantial discounts on artwork.

Retirement Announcement and Community Impact

Recognized as one of the top 25 fine art galleries in the United States, Mirada Fine Art has played a vital role in the region’s cultural landscape. The owners shared their decision to retire in a heartfelt social media post, expressing gratitude for the support they have received from the community over the years.

“After 16 years in business, Mirada Fine Art will be closing its doors! It’s with mixed emotions and a sense of profound gratitude that we’re announcing our retirement,”

the post stated. The couple emphasized their pride in the artists they have represented and the relationships they have formed, referring to the gallery’s patrons as a second family.

Since its inception in 2009, Mirada Fine Art has been a platform for numerous artists, showcasing diverse works that have captivated local and visiting art enthusiasts alike. The announcement of the gallery’s closing marks the end of an era for many who have cherished the space and its contributions to Denver’s vibrant arts scene.

Final Sale and Holiday Celebration

As the gallery approaches its closing date, it is hosting its biggest sale yet, designed to give art lovers one last chance to acquire pieces from the gallery’s collection. Customers can enjoy a discount of $150 for every $1,000 spent, creating an enticing opportunity for buyers.

This sale will run until the gallery’s final day, December 24, 2025. Additionally, Mirada Fine Art is preparing for its last holiday party, set to take place on November 29, 2025, from 18:00 to 21:00. This annual tradition, held over Thanksgiving weekend, will offer guests a festive atmosphere complete with artwork, live music, light refreshments, and drinks.

For many, this year’s party will not only be a celebration but also a poignant farewell to a beloved venue that has enriched the community for over a decade. The gallery’s closure is a significant loss for Denver’s artistic landscape, leaving a lasting legacy of creativity and connection in its wake.
