Ulladulla’s Christmas Extravaganza Kicks Off This Weekend!

UPDATE: Ulladulla is about to come alive with holiday cheer as the annual Christmas celebrations kick off this weekend, promising to surpass last year’s festivities. Local volunteers and community groups, spearheaded by Business Milton Ulladulla, are set to present a spectacular lineup of eight Christmas projects, starting with the highly anticipated Ulladulla Christmas Carols on Saturday, December 13, 2023, at 6 PM.

Families in the Milton Ulladulla area are encouraged to don their best festive attire and join in the celebrations at the picturesque grounds of the Ulladulla Civic Centre. Chamber president Matt Dell expressed excitement about the family-friendly event, stating, “It’s great to see local families come to the Carols each year dressed up and ready to enjoy a night of festivities.” This year, performances will feature talent from several local schools, alongside community involvement from the Apex and Lions Clubs.

The evening will begin at 4:30 PM with the debut of the Ulladulla Christmas Wonderland Spectacular. This enchanting experience, organized by Kathleen and Joe Basile and a dedicated team of volunteers, will transform the Civic Centre into a winter wonderland filled with captivating sights and sounds. The display has expanded this year to occupy the auditorium, allowing for more festive magic. A gold coin donation is appreciated, and Santa will be available for photos throughout the event.

As the evening progresses, attendees can look forward to a range of activities, including a delicious barbecue provided by the Apex, refreshments from Cafe Ivy, and a merry-go-round by the Lions Club. The night will culminate with the lighting of the Town Spirit Christmas Tree at 8:30 PM on the Ulladulla harbour foreshore, showcasing a large pine tree that symbolizes community spirit and connectivity.

Additionally, the Christmas Yarn Bombing Trees project will delight visitors as dozens of trees throughout the Milton Ulladulla area are adorned with colorful crocheted and knitted decorations. Coordinator Elaine Rogers and her team have worked tirelessly to enhance the festive atmosphere, with additional bunting installed in local shops along the highway.

“This year, I wanted to elevate the Christmas cheer for our local shops,” Rogers commented. “I’m proud of our team and the final result.”

With such an overwhelming community effort, Ulladulla is poised for a Christmas filled with joy, laughter, and festive spirit. Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to join in the celebrations, marking this season as a truly magical one.

Don’t miss out on this festive kickoff—share this news and join your community in celebrating the spirit of Christmas!
