Cheryl Tweedy Reflects on Liam Payne’s Legacy in New Show

Cheryl Tweedy is grappling with the emotional impact of Liam Payne’s final television project, which was recently released on Netflix. The show, titled Building The Band, features Payne as he shares his musical journey. Tragically, Payne passed away following a fall from a balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in March 2022. The release of the show has stirred deep feelings for Tweedy, who is the mother of their eight-year-old son, Bear.

Sources close to Tweedy have revealed that she feels a mix of pride and sorrow. “It is very sad for Cheryl,” a source shared with the Mirror. “She’s very proud that Liam’s final project is now available for the world to see, but obviously it’s heartbreaking, too, after Liam’s death. It’s a poignant reminder to Cheryl – and to his fans – of how much more Liam could have done with his life. But that potential was tragically cut short.”

Concern for Bear’s Future

Tweedy’s concerns extend beyond her own grief; she is also mindful of how the show’s release might affect their son. The insider elaborated on Tweedy’s perspective, noting, “He had so much going for him, as well as being a devoted father to Bear. It’s another reason why Cheryl wanted to continue with her own TV career – to show Bear that there is life after losing Liam, that you can be strong and that he can pick himself up. He can be anything he wants to be in life.”

The relationship between Tweedy and Payne spanned from 2016 to 2018, and their bond remains evident in their shared commitment to their son. As Tweedy navigates her own career, she aims to provide a positive example for Bear during this challenging time.

A Tribute to Liam Payne

The release of Building The Band not only showcases Payne’s musical talent but also serves as a tribute to his enduring influence in the industry. Host AJ McLean opened the first episode with heartfelt remarks about Payne. He stated, “When we came together to film Building The Band, we never imagined we’d soon be saying goodbye to our friend, Liam Payne. Liam is a guest judge in later episodes and, through his presence, we see his deep love for music and his unwavering commitment to helping others find their voice. It’s through that spirit that we dedicate this series to Liam and his family.”

As fans and loved ones reflect on Payne’s legacy, the release of this show stands as a reminder of his contributions to music and the impact he had on those around him. For Cheryl Tweedy, it is a bittersweet moment that highlights both the joy of sharing his artistry and the pain of his absence.
