UPDATE: A manhunt is underway as police urgently search for the driver of a black Toyota SUV involved in a hit-and-run that left a cyclist critically injured at Nords Wharf, Lake Macquarie. The incident occurred earlier today, around 11 AM, at the intersection of the Pacific Highway and Awabakal Drive.

Authorities confirmed that emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a collision. Upon arrival, they found a man in his 40s severely injured. Paramedics from NSW Ambulance provided immediate treatment before transporting him to John Hunter Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
