The Bridge Club recently held its annual Christmas Party, combining festive celebrations with competitive spirit. On December 10, 2023, twelve players gathered to engage in a friendly game of bridge, marking a successful event where the computer system for scoring functioned properly for the first time this year, leading to accurate results.
Winners and Highlights from the Festivities
Following the games, Jan and John emerged victorious with an impressive score of 61%. They were closely followed by Bonnie and Max, who secured second place with a score of 58.7%. Rounding out the top three were Wendy and Sue, finishing with 48.6%. Congratulations were extended to all participants, highlighting the camaraderie and enjoyment of the day.
After the bridge games, club members convened at the local Bowling Club for a delightful meal shared with family and friends, further enhancing the festive atmosphere.
Continued Competitiveness in Subsequent Games
The competitive spirit continued as players returned on December 12, 2023, for another round of bridge. During this session, Lorraine and Dick, alongside Bonnie and Max, achieved equal first place. Sandra and Jane followed closely in third place. Unfortunately, there were not enough participants to utilize the scoring computer.
On December 13, 2023, the club held an individual scoring event. Max topped the leaderboard with 2,660 points, while Jan secured second place with 2,410 points. Jennifer rounded out the top three with a score of 1,270 points. As with previous games, the number of players did not allow for computer scoring.
The Bridge Club’s dedication to fostering a competitive yet enjoyable environment continues to thrive. As the year draws to a close, members look forward to more engaging games and opportunities to strengthen their community through shared interests and friendly competition.
Best wishes for a joyful holiday season from all at the Bridge Club!
