URGENT UPDATE: A massive factory fire is raging in North St Marys, Sydney, with flames soaring up to 15 metres high. The inferno, which started around 11 PM last night, has already prompted at least one explosion, forcing emergency services to act swiftly.

Authorities report that approximately 200 firefighters and 50 fire trucks are currently engaged in battling the blaze, utilizing Hazmat units, monitoring drones, and bulk water carriers to contain the fire from three sides. Firefighters are focused on preventing the flames from spreading to nearby buildings and mitigating environmental risks posed by the chemicals stored at the facility.

As of now, there are no reported injuries associated with this devastating fire. Nick Andronicos of NSW Fire and Rescue informed 2GB Radio that once the main fire is extinguished, efforts will shift to extinguishing spot fires. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations will begin once the flames are under control. The rapid response from emergency services reflects the urgency of the situation, as officials prioritize safety and environmental protection.

This incident highlights the potential dangers associated with chemical facilities and the critical role of firefighters in emergency response. Residents in the area are advised to stay informed as the situation develops. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
